π©Όπ Tried and Tested: Aids and Equipment ππ©Ό
When I first became disabled, I posted a thread asking if anyone could recommend any slip on trainers. It took me a while to find the right pair, but I eventually ended up coming across Adidas' Pure Motion Adapt trainers, something that wasn't really marketed to it's full potential for people needing slip on trainers. Literally the comfiest shoes I've ever worn!
I thought it might be a useful idea to have a thread of tried and tested aids, adaptations, equipment etc. whether they're directly marketed towards people with disabilities, or whether they're just something you've come across and they've become a regular staple to help manage with daily life
Folding Laptop Tray
π I love using this table tray as it allows me to colour from the comfort of my own bed / sofa. In addition to laying flat, it has a tilt function that can be adjusted to three different angles which is brilliant as I have a spinal cord injury, meaning that I can sit back, rather than bending over
ππ½ I like that it's portable and I can move it around the house. I also like the price π€ͺ I paid about Β£11 when I got this (they retail around Β£20 on Amazon)
ππ½ There isn't a function to lock the desk whilst it's being transported, so have to be careful about how you carry it

These are such a great invention @CountryMimi.
I used to have something similar from B&M(i think!) a few years ago but it was cushioned underneath so it was more comfier on my lap Similar to the picture below!
What other things have you found that makes things easier for you?0 -
They are so handy aren't they! Little things that just make life a little bit more manageable
I recently bought three pairs of new Adidas Trainers - they were all quite heavily discounted and I really needed some new trainers π€£
I haven't properly warn them yet, so will give a mini review once I've tried them.
I use these little waterproof pouches for my phone. It's just so much easier than struggling to reach into my backpack either from my wheelchair, or balancing it on my crutches to find my phone.
I'm very fortunate that I live in an area where phone snatching isn't a thing, but I would think this would be a deterrent to someone as it's not as accessible for people trying to snatch them when they're attached to your neck
