Advice from the community
Hello Community
I have never been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but after putting all my health issues together, it seems to fit well into a non-severe category but still something which affected me profoundly. When I was six I had two operations for strabismus (lazy eye). About this time I developed a stutter. My 'sporting' ability was very bad. I couldn't throw. My coordination was diabolical. At secondry school the dreaded cross country runs would involve me and the kids with asthma being last. About 13 I remember trying to climb over one of those wire zig zag fences. All the other kids could. I had zero strength in my arms. Football and cricket were embarrassing. I couldn't fight back if I was picked on. Years later I had Alexander technique which helped. I found out I had a twisted spine and massive muscle tightness, along with a malformed shoulder. I am now 59 years old. I am very very tired. I work in a busy office. I have had drug and alcohol problems in the past. My relationship is on the rocks due to my tiredness. My mother had similar issues to the above. Now, maybe I'm just barking up the wrong tree. But what do people on this forum think?
