What you’re describing isn’t normal behavior for most mobility scooters, including Green Power Mobility models.

When the key is turned off, the scooter should engage a brake (usually an electromagnetic brake) that prevents it from rolling. If it’s still moving on an incline or can be pushed easily, a few things could be going on:

    1. Freewheel (manual release) lever is engaged
Most scooters have a lever that allows you to push them manually when powered off. If this is in “freewheel” mode, the brake is disengaged.
👉 Check your scooter—there should be a lever near the rear wheel. Make sure it’s set to drive mode, not freewheel.

    2. Brake not engaging properly
If the lever is in the correct position but it still rolls, the electromagnetic brake might not be activating. This could be due to:

    • Loose wiring
    • Faulty brake unit
    • Controller issue

    3. New scooter setup issue
Since you just bought it, it could be a setup or factory fault. Some scooters need proper initial setup or inspection after delivery.

    Important safety note:
Until this is fixed, avoid parking on slopes—it could roll away unexpectedly.

    What you should do next:

    • Double-check the freewheel lever position
    • Try turning it on/off again while listening for a “click” (brake engaging)
    • Contact the retailer or manufacturer for support (especially since it’s new—this should be under warranty)

If you want, tell me the exact model of your scooter and I can guide you more precisely
