Is anyone else actually scared of Escalators?
Above.
A few years ago I went Bowling in the Arcade at Meadowhall, I got a rather good score and was a bit excited/not concentrating, and had a nasty fall on the Escalator down to the foodie area, and ever since, I've been terrified of Escalators in general.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I know exactly which escalator you mean, it must have been awful. It's no surprise that you're scared of them now. I'm not scared of them but I am very careful to hold on as I can sometimes be a bit unbalanced.

I am ok once I get on the escalator. I just seem to stand for a while and watch it go round a few times until I can judge just when to step on.
It must have been dreadful falling down one @SheffieldMan1976 and very scary.

I always preferred escalators to lifts. Can't get stuck on an escalator as you can just walk if it stops.
Last time I went on one was 2019 though. Made me so dizzy I got stuck at the top of the building for about half an hour waiting for it to wear off. Couldn't find any normal stairs so had to come back down the same escalator and the same thing happened again. Never went on another one after that. It's completely understandable that you'd be scared of them after a bad experience.
