Ah so a call for evidence is not a consultation i think they have this all figured out aleady and a playing along so any future pip plans couldnt be challenged in court as its a call for evidence not a consultation i despair with labour can i ask mw123 if labour lose loads of seats in may what happens

This part enrages me so thier telling us thier ideas oe pip for less severe mental health issues then slip in adhd and autiism and them doing a study on adhd and diagonsing 32 experts wrote that adhd wasnt been overdiagnosed its so obvious where this going its so wrong

A call for evidence and a consultation are two different things. A call for evidence comes first as it is about gathering people’s experiences and data before any specific proposals exist. A consultation happens later when there are actual proposals on the table for people to comment on.
The Timms Review is currently at the evidence gathering stage. If specific changes to PIP are brought forward in the future, there would still need to be formal consultations on those proposals. A call for evidence does not replace or bypass that process as both stages serve different purposes.
The local and mayoral elections in May are decided within each area, so they do not directly change anything at national level. However, if Labour were to lose a significant number of council or mayoral seats, it would certainly create political pressure within the party. Poor local results often lead to internal discussions about policy direction and strategy. They can cause real concern among Labour MPs, who naturally look at those results and start thinking about what they might mean for their own seats at the next general election, even though that is still a few years away.

I wasn’t going to mention it so soon but reading the comments perhaps it it will be helpful to say something briefly now:
I’m in the process of writing a number of guides for this ‘Timms review call for evidence’ that I hope will ultimately accumulate into an unofficial fillable form alternative to the current official online form (which I’ve read comments of not allowing enough space to and being overly complex in its wording)
For now it’s just myself churning out the 1st drafts and I’ve been keeping Catherine in the loop via pm.
I will be very grateful for feedback and suggestions (and probably a lot of rewording) from both scope members and scope forum admin members once I’ve completed all first drafts before posting anything publically (let me know if you don’t mind being contacted by pm once I’ve reached that stage)
Please understand that this is a large undertaking for one person to process (and it doesn’t help that I’m not the fastest in that regard - there’s every chance that a better staffed disability could beat me to the punch on this and render all I’ve done up to this point a bit pointless). I’m trying to go as fast as I can without burning out prematurely but it may be a fortnight or so before things are ready to publicly post files.
I easily get demoralised and disillusioned which is why it’s initially just me and by keyboard - I know a few of you will say this is pointless & a waste of time and any file I posted could have more holes poked through than a rice colander - but at the end of the day I’ve been reading a lot of (rightfully) criticism on this Timms review call for evidence online form + accompanying documents and no one else was forthcoming in making an offer for more ‘digestible’ form & guides so I thought id have a go (as badly put together this call of evidence is I’m still of the viewpoint that as many disabled individuals as possible should be taking - if only to beat the 47k responses from the last time the dwp seemed public opinion on the 2025 dwp (was it white or green)? paper consultation!)

I think that is an excellent idea apple85, and it is genuinely thoughtful of you to take the time to put it together. It could really help members share their evidence more easily, especially for those who find long forms or complicated questions difficult.
The more members who submit evidence, the better. I hope everyone who is able to take part will do so, as it is in every PIP claimant’s best interests to make their views and experiences of claiming PIP known.

I agree everything is changing in the world so fast my writing might be bad spelling ect but standing back is not an opion for me yes it takes energy time but i belive all of this is to see the pushback i see reform getting heckeld and they want cuts so maybe people not wanting what reform wants this is our only time things wont get easier only worse if we dont try to fight them

okay, I’m not sure anyone noticed this (I only just did) but the dwp published an easy read version of the timm review call for evidence guidance pdf and it’s a hell of a lot more straight forward:
Related question - can any recommend software that allows you to turn a normal pdf into a interactive fillable forms (basically I need large editable text boxes that I can add to an existing pdf)
I will carry on with the plan to make the standard call of evidence form and guidance more manageable- but if I can figure out this editable boxes in pdf form lark I can easily produce a stripped back version of the pdf above with answer boxes in the next 48 to 96 hours (I’m very busy tomorrow or I’d be confident of a 3 day turnover)
(Got a bad feeling I’m going to have to purchase a month of Adobe acrobat pro to pull this off most efficiently- hope that will work on my old computer)

That easy read version is much better!🙂
Out of interest, does anyone know whether the payment structure is being considered in this review? The majority of people on PIP now will also be on UC. The 4-weekly payment structure for PIP doesn't align with the monthly structure of UC and just causes more hassle and complication. If it could be changed to a monthly structure that would work much better for people also on UC.

update:
I think I may of figured out how to create a fillable pdf form (it’s using free software so it’s not going to look or function as polished as the ones created on adobe acrobat pro - they want almost £30 a month to use so forgive the cheapskate in me!)
Now I’ve figured that out my first task is to make a editable form version of both the standard guidance doc and the easy read version.
As these initial interactive pdf forms will be a lot of copy and pasting from the dwp resources files it would be helpful for one of the scope admin to look through and make sure I’ve taken all the steps so I have no copyright/legal issues before publicly posting.
I’d also appreciate if any readers wouldn’t mind volunteering as ‘guinea pigs’ and let me send the draft versions of these fillable pdf forms via pm (once I’m at that stage) to let me know if it’s working properly and is straightforward (I’m a Mac user so I’m going in blind with windows)
Also it would be good if people let me know their preferred operating system (Mac, pc desktop, iPad, android tablet) and if a fillable pdf form is the most assessable format for the majority (as I said I’m very much in the Apple infrastructure and have next to no knowledge of Microsoft word - hence why I’m hoping pdf is a universal format everyone is happy with)
Lastly I know that disability is not one size fits all - these first 2 versions will be churned out quickly because there is a lot of copy/paste but I will be working on additional versions that will in inbetween the easy read version and ‘word salad’ versions that the dwp themselves published but these will take more time as much more will be typed from stratch0 -
Yes can send me helps me aa well
