New style ESA + Dismissal final pay

Hi there,

I am currently receiving New Style ESA in the Support Group. I have recently been dismissed from my job due to capability of ill health and i am due to receive a Payment in Lieu of Notice (PILON) of 4 weeks and holiday pay.

I would like to clarify whether receiving these payments will affect my ESA, and if so, how it will be calculated. My ESA payment is scheduled for the 27th of this month, and I want to ensure I report everything correctly to avoid any overpayment issues.

Could you please advise on:

  1. Whether my ESA will be reduced or paused due to PILON/holiday pay.

    Hi i I had pilon etc and I just received a letter saying what's this money, I filled in form saying what it was and that was it. It may effect tax but shouldn't effect ESA

    Hi, yes I still receive my payments now. When I received letter I panicked, called them and explained they said to fill in the form with as much information as possible, I think I included my payslip too, certainly would not hurt to send it as proof.

    Can I ask, we're you dismissed due to your health?

    I have already called ESA to let th know I was dismissed and they told me to call back when I received my final payment so I will do that when it arrives. Yes I was, and haven’t worked for over a year. Can I ask were you working prior to receiving pilon ect or on long term sickness?
