Congenital Hemiplegia mild
Hi ,
I have recently requested my summary care plan to make a pip application (Charcot Marie Tooth disease)
I was shocked to discover that I was diagnosed with congenital hemiplegia but at the same time it answered many questions to the weaknesses I have on the left side of my body. Unfortunately during my childhood my mother suffered serious mental health. I was under a consultant at the orthopaedic during the first 10 years of my life but it wasn’t explained to me in detail . all I knew was that my left leg was slightly shorter than my right.
I feel confused and would like to speak to somebody but I don’t know who I should be referred to.
Thanks

It can be overwhelming to receive a diagnosis of CP in later life. Take time to process this news and we're here if you need support.
