What is the world coming to?

My husband bought a pack of crunchies and I thought I'd treat myself to one…..they're tiny now! I've also treated myself to an Easter egg and it's almost flat! I even saw a 'large' Easter egg that was £9.30 😮 Absolute madness.

What have you noticed shrinking?

And I bet there is a much reduced cocoa content, if any at all!

Exactly @SoapySoutar! It's mostly palm oil now. I crave the old Cadburys chocolate taste.

    Yes I have noticed

    It's shrinkflation

Everything is tiny now but costs more

    I love Crunchie too

    Very small now

Easter eggs are expensive and only 1 bar in them

I heard penguin and other bars not proper chocolate

Chocolate bars in general seem a lot smaller now than what they used to be. Whenever I open a packet of crisps it's usually only about a quarter full and the rest of the packet is just air. There's some other things that I've noticed which have really shrunk over the years but I can't remember what they are.

And then there's Pot Noodles, they may have not shrunk but remember when there used to be soya pieces (fake bits of meat) in them? They've been missing for years. I've just never liked Pot Noodles as much since the soya pieces were removed.

We can't have this conversation without mentioning the current cost of a Freddo. It's now 35p! I've found some more information and the price has risen above inflation which is just unbelievable https://onepoundsweets.com/the-hub/the-history-of-cadburys-freddo-price-rise/?srsltid=AfmBOooaleHpi99Hud5BK8gFZrMu_qqaUHAVFj0k0I-EBqYAu0GS_Xko . I need a lie down 😂

Good point about there only being one bar with Easter eggs now @Amberpearl! Remember when you'd get mugs with them? We have a mini eggs and creme egg mug from many years ago.

Chocolate bars are tiny now @Ross1975. Oh what about the Toblerone controversy? The gaps between the pieces are huge now.

I've still got a couple of mugs from several years ago, I don't know why they had to make the bottom halves of them so narrow though, it means you can't fit much tea or coffee into them, but they look nice and I guess they're collectable. I remember the Toblerone controversy, the gaps ended up so massive that so many people complained and so they ended up making them smaller again, but maybe not as small as what they originally were?

That's a very retro mini eggs cup @Ross1975! I don't recognise that character. I looked it up and apparently Toblerone was restored to its previous size but with a significant price increase.

I had a brownie/cookie with a caramel Freddo on top the other day @Amberpearl. It was delicious.

The boxes are so deceiving. I look at them and think oh that's a good deal but then I pick it up and it's significantly smaller than expected.

I'm a sucker for an Easter egg and even with the shrinkflation I can't resist. I would highly recommend the mini eggs bar as a possible alternative!

    @Rachel_Scope

You surely can't be referring to Mr Cadbury's Parrot?

Lindt 100g Gold Bunny has gone up from £4 to £5 although a couple of supermarkets have them on offer at the moment.

Even the price of a Pint's been gradually increasing over the years, seeing as I refuse on principle to pay more than about 3 and half quid a Pint, it kind of explains why I hardly ever go drinking.

Average price of a pint round my way is £5 and upwards, one bar charges £7 for lager.

I've noticed that some Easter eggs that used to come with a little smaller version of a chocolate bar or bag of sweets no longer do! Just the egg now for more money!!!

I don't go out drinking, but those kind folks at Sainsburys, they bring me pint tins every week. 🍻

I saw some interesting Toblerone Easter eggs in Tesco today, £15 for an egg with only 4 truffles. For that price hopefully the truffles are really big, I've got a feeling they wont be though.
