Hi all, can anyone help me .

I've had a sudden text yesterday from my Doctors saying a Care Coordinator wants to come and visit me 'at Home'...I suffer with debilitating anxiety, don't deal at all well with Strangers, and ever since the text my minds doing cartwheels with worry. I'm 58yrs old, got various complex health issues and have Autism /ADHD. The Surgery have obviously been aware of this for a long time though so I'm wondering what's triggered this random text. My main worry is after looking online it says it's sometimes to take you off or STOP some of your medications and that petrifies me!. I'm on Tramadol and Benzodiazepines amongst a few other things and during my search it flagged up Government/NHS are now getting Doctors to stop prescribing these?. I literally CANNOT cope without them, could that be why they're coming?.

Also during my PIP review I became so overwhelmed and mentally ill I was having some serious dark thoughts, I had to keep asking for extensions. In the end the DWP rang me one day to do a welfare check, the lady was lovely and sounded really concerned but she did imply she'd have to let my Doctors know and would be emailing them, but this was well over a good month ago so I don't my see why the Doctors would do a 'check up' on me now, although to be truthful I'm quite appalled the Doctors didn't check on me considering the conversation that was had with the DWP lady. I just don't feel able to ring the Doctors to ask 'why' due to my anxiety about the sheer thought of my medication being stopped and was hoping someone could shed some light on the possible reason for it?. Also it says online a 'Care Coordinator' from a Doctors Surgery could be Pharmacy based (hence my worry over my medication) but it could also even be someone Admin based, so basically it's not a Doctor whose visiting me so I'm really confused and uncomfortable about the thought of 'whoever' it may becand the NEED for coming to my Home?. Can anyone help or has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Pamela1509debbie fellow anxiety sufferer here. 💛 I completely get how something like this can be so triggering - I hope you're feeling a little better today.

I think you're probably right in that the Doctors have requested this, but it's a shame it's taken a month for the referral to be actioned. I've not been through this myself, but from what I've heard they do cover a wide array of things, and will likely want to ensure that you're ok, and receiving the support you need. I think often when googling, the scariest possible scenarios are the first to show up which is not ideal.

If you're still feeling like your not comfortable with them visiting you at home, give them a call and see if you can arrange something alternative, or they can provide a bit more detail and reassurance.
