Tribunal decision and ongoing PIP

H. i wonder if anybody can advise me on the following, finally I had Tribunal hearing, decision -standard rate until march 2028, 8 points only, but better thann nothing:)

However, in october 2026 i applied for a new PIP jsut in case. it is now in the process

Is it a risks, if new PIP gives me only 4 points, would that decision superceeds the previous PIP? thank you for advice

Hi @Mijuka, if you were concerned that the new PIP claim might not award the same as the tribunal and didn't want to risk going ahead, it might be worth giving DWP a call to discuss and see if your new PIP claim can be withdrawn so that you can continue with your current award until 2028. Totally up to you, but it sounds like you've been through a lot having to go to tribunal. 😊

thank you, Holly. i did phoned them.. How sure it is registered in their system. that i called? yes, it would be risky as i did not get points where i expected, it means DWP will not give points there ( taking into account tribunal decision). and might take away smth . i scored 8 points - standard.

Hi @Mijuka. Were the DWP able to tell you if you could retract your new application? I'm not sure how quickly they are registered onto the system I'm afraid.

i called DWP to tell that i do not proceed further with a ne PIP. the staff member saw in the system. that there is good for me Tribunal decision, and DWP own me money. However, i got a letter from PIP assessment for interview dated 14 May.. Pls advise: i just tell PIP assessor on the day that i called DWP regarding the new PIP, that i wish to stop it. thanx.

Hi @Mijuka. I would contact them again and explain the situation about retracting your new application so they'll hopefully cancel your assessment. It may be that the assessment letter was sent before you called them.
