    Hi @Maryrose51 welcome to the Community. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum. Any questions just ask.

    Thank you for telling us something about yourself. I am sure you have but can you discuss your pain with your GP. If the medication you are on is not controlling your pain perhaps you need a higher dose or a different combination.

    No one should have to live with pain that is so bad they are unable to walk.

    Have a look around and join in when you are ready.

    Take care of yourself.

    @Maryrose51

    A very warm welcome to the community.

    So sorry to hear you are in so much pain and how badly its affecting you.

    Your current pain medication is clearly not working and it needs a review with your doctor.

    Hello @Maryrose51, Firstly, a very warm welcome to you. I am sorry you are in so much pain which is not relieved with your pain medication.

    My mobility is badly affected, partly due to pain which is not managed well with medication so I can relate, it has a very negative impact on daily life and causes a lack of sleep too, both the pain and effects of medication too.

    Have you heard of Arthritis UK (formerly Versus Arthritis)? They have specially trained advisers and can be contacted on 0800 5200 520 from 0900 to 1800hrs Monday to Friday. Their website is very informative too, particularly the sections about pain. They also have ESCAPE-Pain groups but they're also accessible via online use. I am sure they will help even if you have not had a 'formal' diagnosis of arthritis. Too often, patients are diagnosed with arthralgia (pain) without proper investigation too of the cause.

    I would definitely recommend ringing them but also contacting your GP and requesting a physiotherapy referral too, if you're not under their care currently.

    Versus Arthritis (as it was) were running an online 'Pathways through Arthritis' course. I'm not sure they're still running that but what helped me were the online meditations but ONLY whilst I was doing them, not with ongoing management - I can't sit in a meditative state all day every day 🫠. That did help mostly though with sleep but that's impacted by other conditions!!

    I do hope you can get some help that improves your situation and your life more generally. Take good care and my very warmest wishes to you.

    Hi @Maryrose51 and a warm welcome to the community from me!

    Thank you for telling us a bit about your situation. I'm so sorry to hear you're in so much pain, it sounds very uncomfortable and painful. As other members have mentioned it sounds like you really need to discuss this with your GP to hopefully find more appropriate and effective pain medication. Have you been able to contact them yet?

    It's lovely to have you here and hope you enjoy your time on the community😊
