Recent conduct on the online community
We need to address something clearly:
Over the past few weeks, interactions across parts of the community have become increasingly negative. Ongoing sniping, passive-aggressive comments, revisiting past conflicts, and assuming bad intent are creating an environment that is not sustainable.
This community exists to offer support, connection, and shared understanding.
To help us move away from the current pattern of negativity, we are asking members:
- Do not engage with posts you find upsetting or offensive
- Report them and step away or contact us through community@scope.org.uk
- Do not respond publicly to “defend yourself” or “set the record straight”
We understand that feeling the need to defend yourself is human. However, public replies, even well-intended ones, escalate situations and pull others into conflict.
Please also keep in mind:
- Tone is easy to misread, assume good intent where possible
- Personal disagreements should not be played out in public threads
- Repeatedly contributing to a negative or hostile atmosphere may result in restrictions on your participation
Posting here is a privilege, and it depends on everyone contributing to a respectful and constructive space. If current patterns continue, we will take action to protect the wider community.
We want this space to remain supportive, welcoming, and safe for everyone.
Thank you to those who continue to engage thoughtfully, that is the standard going forward.

We have removed a number of posts from members over the past few days and I want to draw attention back to this post with an additional firm reminder.
Some of the recent conduct by members has been absolutely unacceptable and if this behaviour continues, some members will be having their accounts permanently removed. Please consider this a final warning.
