PIP review form
Hi, my PIP review form finally arrived in the post and I have an appointment with citizens advice tomorrow to help me complete these forms. For the last couple of weeks whilst I waited for the review form to arrive I’ve been picking up helpful comments on here too about how to fill in the review forms. I’m looking at the forms this evening and the boxes to write in are so small. From what I’ve read on here I feel encouraged to add my own paper with my extended answers on and I must number the pages to match the pages in the review form? Do I put a sheet in each page of the review form booklet or should I just number all my papers to the correct questions and then place all the papers at the front of the form? I think the return address is on the back and I need to keep that clear for the envelope window.
If there’s anything else that can be advised I’d be really grateful :)

Hi @yellowpineapple84 just thought I'd add our web page for completing the form if it's of any help. Hope your meeting with Citizen's Advice goes ok today 😊

hi @Holly_Scope thank-you so much for this and for encouragement at my appointment :) It went well and I have another appointment with them next week as I didn’t get to finish everything today. Can I please ask: I’m worried about the deadline for the return of this review form. It took the full two weeks to arrive to me so I feel I’ve lost a week and then I haven’t completed it this week so that’s another week without returning and then I know Royal Mail could take time getting it to them when I do post it. So I’m thinking of calling to ask for an extension but if I ask for an extension do I get penalised by DWP? Will they stop my next due payment until they receive the form back?

Pleased to hear it went well @yellowpineapple84. You shouldn't get penalised for an agreed extension. I'd suggest giving them a call and explaining everything to them and hopefully they'll be understanding. Especially knowing you're seeing Citizen's Advice to get support with completing the forms. When is your deadline?

@Holly_Scope is there anyone who has said they have been if they’ve requested an extension? Mine is 4th May and I am due my next PIP on 6th May so I’m very very worried they will not give me that payment?

They shouldn't do that as long as it's an agreed extension. I understand why you're worried, but it would be completely wrong of them to do that. The best thing to do is to give them a call @yellowpineapple84 as soon as possible and hopefully you'll speak to someone who's kind and understanding.

hi @Holly_Scope Thank-you for your encouragement and help and I just called the number now and thankfully I did get to speak with someone kind and helpful who was understanding and has given me a 14 day extension and confirmed I won’t be penalised or support payment stopped in the meantime. I’m really relieved I got to speak to someone kind as I’ve read horror stories of others calling PIP and being spoken to in a truly horrific way and I was dreading having someone like that

That's a great result @yellowpineapple84, really pleased you got an extension and they were nice and friendly. I bet that's a bit less stress now you can focus on the form. 😊

@Holly_Scope thanks 😊 Yes I feel relieved and grateful. I have another appointment with citizens advice next week and I will use the link you shared too thanks and hopefully I can be okay with this review and still receive the same support I’ve had these last 3 years
Because the boxes for answers are quite small I’m using extra paper for answers and I know to number them to match the questions in the booklet but do I put the papers into the review booklet individually for each question or do I bunch them all together and just put at the front of the booklet?

Extra paper is fine. I've not done this myself, but I have seen others suggesting you attach to the back of the form with a staple or something similar.
Hopefully our other members who might have done this will see this and give their thoughts too 😊

Thank-you @Holly_Scope 😊 Maybe I could do that but I know the back of the form has the return address on and I need to align that to the window for the given envelope. However if I want to send it via a faster and possibly safer postal option with Royal Mail all I need is to write part of the address on another envelope and send it tracked or recorded delivery or whatever the best delivery is. I feel nervous about using the standard delivery with the free post envelope, I’m worried it will be lost or won’t arrive on time and I will get penalised. If I pay for postage though I could then attach everything on the back of the form with the extra papers numbered to the right question. I just want this to be over and to simply be left alone with the same support I’ve had for the last three years. This is really worrying and stressful going through this

That's the only negative with it, I suppose @yellowpineapple84 Hoping others might have some tips for it. But with that being said, I would recommend paying a little more for safer postage, just for peace of mind more than anything if it's not too expensive.
I can imagine it's very stressful, but you're doing all the right things getting the support and reading through the tips for filling it out. It's all going to put you in the best possible position for submitting it. Fingers crossed once you've submitted for a swift turnaround and a positive outcome. I'd love to keep up to date with how you're getting on with it, if you don't mind of course

@Holly_Scope Thank-you yes I will follow that advice and pay for more secure postage. Citizens advice being really helpful as they were three years ago when I first applied for PIP and this link you shared is really helpful for me too 😊 And yes I’m happy to let you know how it is going as it progresses, thanks for caring 😊

Hi my pip end date is july 2027 when will I likley get my review form please? Any help is greatly appreciated

hi @wasp123 I think you have a really good amount of time ahead before you receive the text from DWP about your review form. For example, my PIP end date is December 2026 and I have been sent my own review form this month so I’m guessing you won’t receive a text from DWP notifying you for a few months yet. Maybe you will hear this winter. But there are others on here who are a lot more clued up than me and can give a better idea as I could be wrong ☺️

yellowpineapple84 thank you so much for your reply I did read somewhere that it was anything from 8/12 months but other have reported different. Good luck with your review.
Do you know whether dwp will contact dvla about my condition?
0 -
@wasp123 thank-you and same to you :)
Is DVLA to do with driving? I don’t drive myself so I really don’t know about this. Have you tried looking in any of the other conversations for PIP review topics as maybe there is something helpful in there 🙂

@yellowpineapple84 hi yes im worried that the pip department will report me to the dvla or even share certain things about my disability? I hope this is not the case as my liscence is my lifeline isn't possible just not to mention it in review??

Hi @wasp123. The DWP may contact the DVLA if they believe your condition would prevent you from driving but this isn't done in every case. Is there a particular reason why you're worried about them sharing information? If you're able to drive safely you should be fine.
