Payments from trust

My parents set up a discretionary trust for me and my children before the passed away.
I'm claiming uc and I need some urgent house repairs. Will the trust be able to pay the cost of the repairs into my account or will this affect my uc? Will I need to ask the trust to pay the tradesmen directly?

Hi,
Trusts have different rules so you will need to check whether your one will pay for housing repairs.
If it will, then the best option is to have them pay the tradespeople directly.
It would be technically allowed to have the money paid into your account, and then to the tradesperson, however it is likely to flag up on UC and cause unnecessary hassle to confirm what it was for. Keeping it out of your account altogether is the best option.
