US Medical TV shows
Evening everyone… I struggle with not sleeping due to pain, bladder issues and spasms thanks to MS…so often get up in the night to waste a couple of hours and have a warm drink. Have recently binge watched the entire series of ER (loved it!) - better late than never, and am now watching The Pitt, another US ER series. Has anyone else noticed that the patient's family, friends, kids etc are always there? As in there when they are doing emergency resucitation, surgical things and even watching when they are in theatre?? Is this really what happens I wonder? I can't imagine being allowed to watch what goes on in op theatres here!

I haven't watched The Pitt yet but I've heard really good things about it @woollywonder! What do you think about it?
I've watched Greys Anatomy and the patients families tend to there for a lot of the things as well! I think it must just be for television because surely that doesn't happen in real life??!!!
However, I do have a friend who was asked if she wanted when her husband went into hospital for a vasectomy!!!!0 -
I also watched er
Loved it
Love lots of us shows

Eww I'm not sure I'd like to see a vasectomy performed! I have enjoyed The Pitt overall, it's much more down to earth than Grey's …. having binged ER I loved that too, so now searching for another series to get lost in for a while.

I feel quite sad now I've run out of ER, it felt much more grounded than Grey's Anatomy and I really got invested in the characters! Do you have any recommendations for good US medical shows?

I woke up having my vasectomy … can still hear the surgeon … ooooh he felt that
Definitely felt the nurse picking my leg up and dropping it, because I kept crossing my legs in recovery 😮
I have to have regular cameras every year, and I always take a memory stick … weirdly interesting to watch it back when it's not so uncomfortable.
As for having family in the theatre. No thanks … knowing mine they'd hold the ventilator tube 😏

The crossing your legs thing must have been some survival instinct haha. How interesting, to watch back your 'internal footage'!
