Bank Details on UC account

I need to change my surname on my bank details that are on my Universal Credit account. I can get a deed poll certificate but not sure what else I need ie; Photo Id, etc. Also, I did change the surname a while ago but forgot to update my UC account. Will I be penalized for this, or will my payments stop?
