Pip change of circumstances
Hi after waiting 2 years for my renewal to be reviewed, and told still sitting with DWP waiting to be sent to assessors ( DWP told me once at assessors could taje another year due to amount of new claims) I am in South East area. I submitted a change of circumstances form, with up to date occupational therapists report, medication list, proof of shower room with wash and closemat toilet installed following previous OT report. Form came in a week, I had friend fill it out ( as struggle with holding a pen) and she typed me a long how my condition affects me letter. Also asked fir paper decision given I've been waiting 2 years and now provided lots of evidence. I sent the form next day delivery signed for and to their credit got acknowledgement the next day that ht gad been received. Will keep you all updated. Apologies typos not easy to type

I'd ring them on Tuesday (it's Bank Holiday tomorrow so they'll not be working) and get updates.

The bank holiday is not tomorrow. It is next Monday.

That's an incredibly long time to be waiting @slm. Have you managed to call them?

Hi everyone. Thought I would update you. After waiting over 2 years for review ( with form still with DWP waiting to be sent for an assessment, I decided to submit a change of circumstances form as my cobdutiobs and help needed greatky changed . I provided an up to date occupational therapist report which clearly stated what I can and cannot do. Also evidence of adaptions in house and full list of prescriptions. After 2 weeks I received a text to say review complete ( paper based). Very good i thought, however was awarded same points as before standard personal care and despite now being 67 did not get the light touch 10 year award but a 6 year one. I know I should ask for a mandatory review but after all this time and wait I just haven't got in me.

That's disappointing @slm, sorry to hear that. It's strange that they didn't give you a light touch award too considering your age. But I can understand why you might not want to fight it. The whole process can be so exhausting. Even though it wasn't what you were hoping for, hopefully you can relax a little now after waiting so long for it all to come to a close.

Hi just one final thing, when I used google to find out why I got 6 year award instead on light touch 10 year award it said pensioners who receive standard rate awards are more likely to get fixed rate awards than those who received enhanced. So wonder if this is something else the DWP are quietly introducing behind the scenes.

PIP is likely to change within the next 6 years. The assessment is likely to change due to the UC WCA being scrapped in 28/29. And PIP may change altogether depending on which party gets into government at the next GE. I really wouldn't give it any more thought now that it's around 6 years away. 🙂
