My son lives in supported living but wants to live near his family in next county. Social services refuse because they say they will not pay for move and fund bew supported living. We have difficult history with Wakefield social services because they put my son on a hoarding and dying pathway when he was in his flat and refused to give appropriate support. They told him to keep food packaging. It is difficult because we cannot see each other as we like. He stays over every weekend and this is causing sleep deprivation. He doesn't have any money for activities and lies in supported living in bed bored. He crys he never see mum or family again. He asleep all day until we see him and then awake at night when stays over causing sleep deprivation. He wants to live closer to family. I have raised complaint and now written to ombudsman and Wakefield social services refused to give me complain outcome letter. Any information gratefully received.

Hi @Rosemary21 and welcome to the community. I'm so sorry about the issues you and your son are having. It's great that you're standing up for him. It's not something I'm familiar with but you may be able to find someone to help using this tool https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

https://england.shelter.org.uk/ This could also be a good source of information for you. I'm sorry I can't be more help. Hopefully one of our members may know more.

Hello @Rosemary21, Welcome to the community from me too. I'm so sorry I don't have any more information than Rachel has given you. It is very sad and cruel to see the lack of compassion and support to you and your son, and wider family, and the effects on your lives.

You may already be aware that Simon Lightwood is the MP for Wakefield, I would recommend writing to him too; if you do, please note the parliamentary summer recess is from 16th July to 1st September.

I wish you and your son the very best and hope you find the right person who can help you as soon as possible. With my very warmest wishes to you. Take care.
