POOR SAM

He is 14 months old now and three weeks ago I let him out in the garden.

This afternoon he has limped in with his front paw swollen. I cannot work out if it is a sting or he has jumped and hurt it when he landed.

Vet tomorrow at 9.00am

He won't let me touch his paw or even look at it properly.

Ouch, poor Sam! Hopefully the vet can work out what's happened and get him feeling more comfortable. Fingers crossed it's just a little sting or something and he's back to his normal self soon!

Sorry to hear about Sam, at least my dog would let me look.

If cats are anything like dogs, the problem will hopefully resolve itself Monday; i never rush to the vet at the drop of a hat.

Let's all hope it's nothing a few days rest won't cure.

Thanks @SoapySoutar I hope so he is not eating either. Just feeling sorry for himself.

Although he did manage a few treats.

    Thank you @Andi66 and @onmylonesome

It was a bite not a sting so two weeks antibiotics.

I do not know what bit him he only goes in the garden.

I know what bit me getting him in his carrier.

    Take care.

So what did the vet say this morning? Or did you cancel since Sam is better?

Hi @StarryEyed the vet said it is a bite not a sting. She gave Sam two weeks of antibiotics and then I have to take him back, just to check he is ok.

He is a lot happier in himself today and some of the swelling went down overnight.

Hopefully he will stay away from whatever bit him in future.

    Take care.

Oh that's so great that you took him to the vet. Infections can be deadly. You're such a good kitty mommy. 🥰

Glad to hear Sam isn't badly hurt. Do you get my horseflies in your areas? The site of a horsefly bite almost always swells up.
