Help And Advice With Reasonable Adjustments
Hello All,
This is such an amazing Community
I wanted to ask for some advice with a issue returning to work after a period of sick leave.
I was diagnosed with clinical depression back in 2016. I have had a period of time off work due to an unmanageable workload and burnout (3 months)
My workplace requested an occupational health appointment even though I had informed my manager that I suffer from depression.
Occupational health have recommended some reasonable adjustments which I hope will help.
My manager has stated that upon my return want me back working at 100% capacity within 4 weeks even though I don’t know how I feel.
i have also been told that my team is underperforming and I need to instigate performance management and capability conversations upon my return which has led to triggering my depression. I have requested a temporary removal of line management (team of 4) duties upon my return but my manager replied by email straight away saying that’s not reasonable.
I want to return to work but it feels like the company will not let me return. My doctor and therapist have also provided written documents stating that line management is a trigger and a reasonable adjustment would allow me to get back to work and in the short term.
My manager has also stated it’s putting the team under a huge amount if pressure with me being absent from work.
Hope someone can offer some advice please?

Sorry but I've always said the reasonable adjustment thing's a scam, because what's reasonable is open to interpretation at the employer's discretion, and almost never benefits the employee.
