Hi, my name is Lulu79!
Hi, I'm a mum to a 23 year old disabled daughter. Anyways she has severe Autism and learning disabilities she lives at home with me and her Dad. When she turned 19 she left her special needs school that she had been at since she was diagnosed age 2. She got a social worker which she had never had and they placed her at an Adult Learning disability centre twice a week which she has to pay for out of her money which is fine. Didn't know until then she was entitles to UC so on the councils say so because they were including it on her financial assessment even though she didnt get it we applied for UC for her as she o my got the full rate of pip. She was awarded UC and anyways fast forward 4 years someone from the job centre actually came out to the house and met her. Straight away he queried why she was in the work group and I said I didnt know she was in the work group or that there were different groups I just thought what you got was what you were entitled to. So he got me to get a fit note from the doctor for her and submit it and now the health journey has began. He said she shpukd have been getting LWCRA. Anyway on the UC application I wrote she has severe autism and learning disabilities and all through the foyr years every year when they review it I've always requested someone to visit the house as I cannot taje her to the job centre because if her disabilities and every year they have only conducted a phone interview with me as I've stated she is non verbal ans cannot talk on the phone I am her appointee and no one from the job cebtre has ever said to send a fit note or start the health journey even though I'm told she was entitled to it the whole time. Do u have any cause to put in a complaint about this? Or do I let it slide? It took one man from there to actually meet her and he kick started this. Any help or ideas?

Hi @Lulu79 and a warm welcome to the community from me!
I'm sorry this has happened, this sounds really frustrating! From what you've described, it sounds like it may be worth putting in a complaint especially as your daughter went a few years without getting the full amount that she was entitled to😊1 -
I'm not very confrontational and I'm scared to do it. I had never heard of LWCRA so dont know how many others will be missing out. Thanks for your reply.
