I have applied to apeal my PIP decision which is from September 2025. It was suggested that I also reapply for a new assessment if I think my situation has deteriorated. However, I have read conflicting inform about the potentupifalls of doing this. Can anyone advise me?Thank you

Hi @Shelly_2026, welcome to the community. Are you still waiting to hear back from your appeal on the decision in 2025 or is that something you've done recently?

If your health has deteriorated and you feel you'd be entitled to more PIP, it can be worth doing a change of circumstances to be reassessed. You could try having a look through the PIP descriptors and see if you might score some more points than you did last time. When you're reassessed, they will look at your whole award which could mean your points go up or down, but you'd still be able to appeal again if you weren't happy with the result.

It can be a good idea to speak to a professional welfare adviser who can take a look at your claim and give some advice on what might be the best way forward. If you'd like to do that, there's a search tool on the Turn2Us website. But I'm sure some of our members will have some experiences to share too so I hope they'll be along soon ☺️
