Cost of living payments overpayment

Hello everyone hope all are as well as can be ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Right where do I start ๐Ÿ™„ Back when the cost of living payments were being paid. In Feb 2022 my partner moved in with me. I was the claiming New Style ESA support group, UC & had a claim for PIP ongoing. My partner had been claiming UC while waiting for ESA to be sorted but he had to put in MR and then it went to a tribunal which didnโ€™t happen until last year so from 2021-2025 after a lot of problems to do with court dates being sent to wrong address & change of court as he had moved from Stockport to Liverpool ๐Ÿ˜ก So the court found in his favor so he would be getting it all backdated to 2021 which we would be good but on the other hand we had been warned that ESA Would pay him and then we would have to pay back what we had received in UC payments๐Ÿ™„ which has been a nightmare you would think it would be simple๐Ÿ™„ BUT NO because the departments donโ€™t speak to each other๐Ÿ™„ It took them months to sort it out ๐Ÿ™„ Right fast forward to now and weโ€™re still get letters to say we owe UC more money for cost of living payments? We have already paid some money back to them for cost of living payments for 2022 now another letter about payments for 2023. We just feel like we have sorted it out then another letter turns up ๐Ÿ™„ is there a way to find out in laymanโ€™s terms what we actually needed to pay them back? Like can we get a full explanation of what benefits we were paid and what benefits we needed to pay back ?
Sorry for the long post I just hope someone can help?
TIA Gaylfc

Hi @Gaylfc, welcome to the community. That sounds like an ordeal! I'm afraid I'm not aware of any way to view what you might need to pay back, but our members may have some ideas.

If you still have access to your UC journal and statements you could see if there's any information about what's been paid to you as a starting point. But it may be a good idea to speak to a trained benefits adviser to see if they can take a look at your claims and work things out for you: https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Hopefully you're near the end of it all and can get things sorted soon!
