Farage's cataclysmic wins

I agree with you.
Please provide actual evidence of what you are accusing people of based on who they voted for.

Well in that case it makes them callous and not someone I would choose to have in my life. I choose to be kind to my fellow humans, not to seek to make them suffer.

Hi everyone,
We understand that politics is an emotional topic, but we can please remember to be civil and avoid using inflammatory language.
Thanks

You are trying to influence how they vote by saying you would not have them in your life if they vote a certain way.
And yet again you are not allowing others an opinion because it is not the same as yours.
No one is choosing to make you suffer they are voting for there own reasons.

its because they think theyll be special or it wont apply to them, in for a big shock
i agree with everything youve said
it’s sad people post about others being allowed opinions but then try and stop us sharing ours

politics are mostly social politics now and i think its totally fair and understandable to say you woudnt be friends with someone who votes a certain way, somethings you just cant reconcile
I dont want people in my life that would wish others harm how is that a bad thing to say?

If Reform gets into power at the next GE do you think his party will get everything that they want to do through parliarment? I say he'll have push back from other parties. A day in politics is a very long time.

To put the local election figures into context we need to break them down.
Reform only won overall control of 13 councils and they only have 8 MP's.
They might have won 1300 seats but they are not in control of all these councils.
Before a General Election there will be more scrutiny of all the parties.
There is 3 years to go before a General Election and Reform will have run 13 councils for that time. We will therefore be able to judge them on how they managed this.
Some of the results will be protest votes of people being unhappy with Labour. This tends to be the case in Local Elections.
I think it is far too soon to be worrying about who will win the next General Election.
A lot of things can change before then.

I do not know of anyone who votes in either a Local or a General Election who does so to hurt someone else, and it is ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
People vote in elections for their own reasons.
I would defend anyone's right to have an opinion, it does not mean I have to agree with them.

He says he's gonna cut ALL disabled benefits to the bone? Won't happen, no Court in the known Universe would allow it.
More to the point, neither would they allow him to repeal the ECHR or the Equality Act.

literally as meg said, farage said "well cut disability benefits so hard there'll be riots" how is that not hurting and damaging to disabled people?
didnt think here of all places would have so many reform voters and defenders
crazy

How do you know which party, if any @Bluebell21 voted for?
It is quite common for the ruling party to get a kicking at local elections, and remember, the turnout is usually quite low, not a reliable reflection of the views of the electorate as a whole.

Farage has been very clear on what he will do with benefits and disabled people. And it would be wise for people to listen to him, the scale of cuts will surpass the ones done by the tories back in the day. As he said that the cuts will be something that hasn’t been done before in clear reference to the tories cuts.
I did post a few threads on this, bringing the issue to the forum but I found people will justify anything as they support the stop the boats narrative on top of anything else.
The stop the boats narrative is flawed in many ways but that’s for another thread. It is sad, but unfortunately some people are like that and they are entitled to think or vote for whoever they wish to.
All the best

My library has been closed by a Labour Council.

Most of us here are disabled people and we vote based on a number of different issues/ policies we feel are relevant.
Reform are NOT the only political party intending to massively reduce the welfare/disability benefits bill and for you to suggest that people vote with the deliberate intention of "hurting people" with disabilities is completely ridiculous and insulting.

Unfortunately all Reform voters are bothered about is stopping the Boats, despite the fact it was Reform UK who started the Boats post Brexit in the ruddy first place.

Note from the online community team
Just another reminder to be civil and respect the fact that others may have different views to your own.
Many thanks.

I agree with both of you and it always seems to be the same few who try to overtake the forum and shut down the opinion of others. It’s getting ridiculous.
