Moblity scooters

Hi, Scope name is Bruce and only just joined: mostly for advice on purchasing a mobility scooter. Which would you recommend for a heavy fellow-me- in a somewhat hilly area to generally get about and go shopping?

Hi @Bruce4, welcome to the community ☺️ I'm sure our members will have some recommendations, so I hope they'll be along soon. But is there a mobility shop near you where you can go and try some out?

Some places will also let you lease them for a while to see if it suits your needs. It's well worth giving it a go as everyone has different ideas of what's comfortable. The sales people should also be able to give some advice about what sort of thing would be suitable for you.

Do you ever go off road, or would you mostly be going places where it's paved such as shops and roads?

You can't go far wrong with a class 3 scooter from the likes of Sterling (Part of Sunrise Medical, makers of Quickie wheelchairs), Invacare, Motion Healthcare.

If you can't afford to purchase a new scooter, then I can recommend Mobility Giant. My class 3 scooter came from them, and included a 12 month warranty.

    For insurance, I recommend Surewise.
