It's the start of the Chelsea Flower Show so I thought we could all describe our perfect bouquet of flowers. I know we have some keen gardeners here!

Despite a family member working at Chelsea every year, I still don't know much about flowers so I'm counting on you to educate me!

Pictures would be greatly appreciated 😊

I much prefer seeing flowers in the garden. Never really understood the point of keeping a bunch of dying flower heads indoors for a week. πŸ˜„

I tend to like big blooms personally, nothing too small and delicate. And bold colour blocking. Not usually a fan of pink, but I do like the Kings Rose which is a fairly new variety with an interesting pattern. πŸ™‚

I'm the same as you @Rachel_Scope. Although a few years ago, my friends sent my a bouquet which had the most beautiful light pink English rose in, and ever since I really love the look of those. It's definitely an artform what these florists do!

Do like a bunch of lily's too. Although, I think they're supposed to be associated with death which is a bit morbid. But I still like them πŸ™ˆ

I love bunches of flowers😍 I like sunflowers the most but you very rarely see them in bouquets! I also like tulips and yellow roses as they remind me of my mam and nan as they were both their favourite flowerπŸ˜„

Do you mean these @OverlyAnxious? I didn't know what these were called but we had some in our backgarden in our last house! I always found them fascinating. Maybe some bright pink and yellow roses would go nicely with it? I understand where you're coming from about having flowers in a vase. I like to have them every now and again as we don't have a garden. If we did I'd plant so many colourful flowers!

I looked up pink roses @Holly_Scope and there are so many varieties! I quite like the muted tones of this bouquet. Were the pink roses anything like these?

How about this bouquet @Mary_Scope? You'd just need to add some tulips 😊

It's amazing how pretty flowers colours are. The English rose is a little different and I'd not seen it before so really stuck out to me. They look like this:

I actually prefer the white ones, or a peach when I've just been googling but they're all super pretty.

Yes, that's the one! Raspberry ripple effect. πŸ™‚

I've noticed Aliums doing well in gardens in my area this week. They're like purple balls on tall green stems. I'm sure they'd make an impact indoors in a vase.

    White lilies are.

A white lily is also a classic funeral bloom but what do lilies represent? In flower symbolism, white lilies mean majesty, purity and a return to innocence, while peace lily plants represent peace, harmony, and rebirth. They’re often sent as gifts to the family of the deceased as a reminder that their memory will live on.

Oh I'm a huge flower fan too, and adore bouquets but like you, @OverlyAnxious, can't stand that they're dead, so never like them in my house. Plus I used to have a jerk partner in my 20s who would lavish me with flowers after he was mean, so that sucked even more life out of them. Lol! Oh, and cats typically eat fresh flowers and many are poisonous to them, so that's another reason to not have them. However, I adore taking pics of them. There's a little chapel in the cemetery near me that always has beautiful bouquets, which are great to photograph. I go there often because a lot of my family is buried there. Here are some recent pics from there, as well as a recent wedding and christening.

Beautiful colours @StarryEyed. I love the little blue flowers on the last picture. Does anyone know what they are?

Thank you. Mind you, I didn't invent the flowers or grow the flowers or arrange them. Just took the shots. So maybe I shouldn't say thank you?😊 The blue flowers are dyed baby's breath (the little white flowers beside them).
