Does anybody have any nice plans for this Bank Holiday?
I'll be catching up with an old group of friends. We meet annually for a local beer fest. Surprisingly, it's now hosted in a church! Or what was.
The weathers supposed to be nice, so hopefully you've all got some nice plans. π

It's 25 degrees on Monday where I live so I'm going to be led in the garden with a book, sunglasses, a hat and factor 50 suncream with lots of iced waterπ

Finances and transport permitting, we'll be in The George for the Karaoke on Saturday evening.
And then hopefully the Angel for the quiz on Sunday.

The weather here is forecast to be hot and sunny which usually brings lots of tourists to the small town so it will be busy here.
If I'm well enough I'm hoping to see live bands on Friday and Saturday nights and on Sunday afternoon.

Doing a duet with one of the new staff, Destiny, she's a bit of a darling.
Maybe doing Meat Loaf and Cher, Dead Ringer.

One band is a party band (playing here Friday and Sunday in beer gardens weather permitting) play 80's and other popular anthems, the other band play 70's glam rock and they a great fun will be playing in a social club.

2 days all by myself. Wife is going away with friends. Bliss. Music when I want it. Do whatever I want β¦ just me. I love my own space and company π€©

@Holly_Scope β¦ too hot for me now I can't regulate my body temperature very well. I used to love it.
And yep β¦ got a garden. Not sure how much my neighbours like the music I write π€£
It's all I seem to listen to lately. I'm sure the power tools I use annoy them more. I've got an idea for tea light holders made from firewood logs and resin β¦ all dependent how much my body and hands want to play ball

@Holly_Scope β¦ no I never sell my work. People have told me to start an Etsy shop but I never know how much my body will play ball from one day to the next. But I do give some stuff away. People have asked me to make them bespoke pieces, but always scared to commit

They look fab! I'd definitely pay for something like this. That's understandable if it'll add pressure to you but if you ever did set up a shop, you could always do it ad-hoc. Sell what you've made as and when you've made it. It's nice you've given things away. I think bespoke is always cooler than things that are churned out in the masses.

@Holly_Scope β¦ thanks. One barrier is the mess. I don't have many regrets, but not stockpiling timber I had access to and not having a proper workshop when I was younger and able are two β¦ too busy working, thinking I'll retire @ 50 and not thinking the future will happen to you β¦
The sawdust from one log/ tealight holder πThat and the noise from all the power tools β¦ which I get earache from. Not from the tools. My wife π€£

@Holly_Scope β¦ should have heard her when I used an angle grinder to cut out bricks in the living room to fit a new socket. Sooo much dust. I was genuinely scared of her coming downstairs because I didn't cover anything π Using a drill and chisel was too slow β¦
No that's not my shed β¦ it's bin storage I made and to the right my workbench door
This is my shed. Designed by and built by me around the window I found in a recycling centre. Looks small but it's 9x7 foot and still could do with it being bigger β¦ actually being back on topic - really should tidy it this bank holiday

I wish I'd known my future β¦ contingency plans for contingency plans β¦ and loads of cotton wool β¦
And sap β¦ nature's payback juice β¦ The worst are Grandis Fir or Noble Fir β¦ that stuff is lethal. We used to be in so much pain we'd use petrol to dissolve it in our eyes, then rinse with water. I must admit when it comes to my eyes β¦ I'm the biggest baby going. When I got metal filings in them I would cheerfully have taken them out with a spoon to clean them π€

I love your shed, especially the two tone colours. It's so homely and summery especially with the decorations in the garden area too.
