World Cup 2026 Community Sweepstake
On 11 June 2026, World Cup 2026 will kick off!
As we have in past football tournaments, weโre running a World Cup Community Sweepstake for the duration of the tournament.
To join, you don't need to know anything about football. Just pick a number from the list of available numbers:
[All numbers have been chosen!]
We'll randomly assign each number a team once all the numbers are chosen. If all the numbers end up chosen and you still wish to join in please tell us and we will randomly assign you a team and you will share that team with another member.
How it works
- Each person gets one team at random
- You donโt need any football knowledge
- Your team progresses through the tournament (which begins on 11 June 2026) based on real results
- The further your team goes, the more community badges youโll win.
What you can win
Youโll earn online community digital badges depending on how your team does:
- Participant โ for taking part
- Second Round โ your team gets out of the group
- Last 16 โ your team reaches the last 16
- Quarter-finalist โ your team reaches the quarter-finals
- Semi-finalist โ your team reaches the semi-finals
- Third-Place โ your team wins the third-place playoff
- Runner-up โ your team reaches the final (but loses)
- Champion โ your team reaches the final and wins the World Cup
Weโll also have a few other light-hearted badges:
Wooden Spoon โ for the earliest teams to be eliminated
Underdog Hero โ if your team goes further than was reasonably expected
Heartbreak Award โ if your team is knocked out on penalties or by a last minute goal
And if you fancy getting involved moreโฆ
There are also badges for joining in during the tournament:
- Matchday Chatter โ Starting or joining match discussions
- Tournament Reporter โ Sharing updates or thoughts on the tournament as it progresses
- Fair Play Award โ Keeping things friendly and supportive when discussing the World Cup
Thatโs it! Nice and simple.
Pick a number, post it below and and youโre in.
