Does anyone else still listen to the radio?

I listen to the radio a lot but I think I've outgrown Radio 1 as I hear myself grumbling more often than not that it's not music any more (age catching up with me!)

What radio stations do you listen to?

I'm with you on outgrowing Radio 1 … the presenters are far too chirpy and really do my head in 🤣( Not as much as Sara Cox does, but …)

I'm more Absolute 80's or Absolute Country if I listen to the radio

I'm the same too, Radio 1 is a bit much now! I go for Kisstory or Heart Dance but I don't listen often as I just use my music streaming service. I wonder what the listening figures are like since Spotify took over?

That's a good question about the listening figures. Compared to 10 years ago they must be down ? Mostly I listen to Alexa and Amazon Music … although she must be fed up of Nathaniel Rateliff albums and Boy George's Life album on repeat this afternoon

Yeah they've got to be. I also wonder where people listen to the radio most? I can't say I listen to it unless I'm in the car. My mum on the other hand has Classical FM on in the background constantly!

Radio 2 is just as bad these days, i avoid both. I listen to Ken Bruce still on Greatest Hits Radio, was listening to Deacon Blue's Ricky Ross last night on BBC Radio Scotland, and i enjoy Sportsound every weekend on the same station.

We used to have Tay FM for the youngsters, and Tay AM for grown up music, but like alot of local stations, a media behemoth gobbled them up.

Have to agree about Ken Bruce … fantastic DJ. Up there with John Peel, Annie Nightingale and Bob Harris

I haven't listened to Radio Wales since Wynne Evans was let go … not out of protest, but because he was the best on it

Funnily enough I've just had to change my radio station of 15+ years because I've lost signal since a new neighbour moved in. (Presumably with a large metal item blocking my signal).

Can only get 2 stations now, one of which is Radio 1, so I'm trying that… Must admit I'm surprised they still play a lot of older stuff. I thought it was all going to be brand new. Nice mix of rock and pop as well. I don't mind it so far. I am finding the newsbeat to be a bit strange compared to my previous station though, seems oddly patronising and presumably aimed at younger people.
