Weeds in lawn

We're growing an ever increasing crop of dandelions in our lawn - every day, I look at the number and wonder how we will get rid of them …..

We've tried lawn weedkiller spray, we've tried lawn granules, I've even been out on the lawn on my knees with a weeder, individually digging the yellow things up - but give it a week and they're back - stronger than ever - any suggestions as to how to dispatch them for good ?

    The bees love them, why not leave them?

    Unless you get all the taproot out … they're going to come back.

    3 years ago I used to have a bowling green front lawn with just a bit of moss, but clover, daisies, creeping buttercup and dandelions have decided to reclaim it … so as above I've given up the fight and left it for the insects to find beneficial and cut it every 10 days.

    I can live with it because I never use the front door 😁

    Quite right, who wants a straight edged monoculture? It looks do false to me.

    I must admit I like the look of a nicely kept lawn … especially when you compare it to an artificial one. I guess we're all different ?

    @Wibbles if you really want gone, burning with a propane torch works. They'll grow back but eventually the roots will be starved and they'll die off if you do it every couple of weeks. A small hand held one will pinpoint each root … just watch for dry grass and moss thatch … a damp day would be the best time or it could be a wildfire 😉
