I use to get male tena disposable pad every 3 months from the Tees, Hambleton and Richmondshire Adult Continence Service, I use about 4-5 a day so got quite a few packs.. Just got a letter today saying. The higher management team within the South Tees NHS Trust are stopping the free disposable pad ,You are able to self purchase this yourself if you wish to do so…. Is there any organizations i can get them from at a discount before i bulk buy them… thanks

Hi @Steboro, that's a shame they no longer provide this support. I'd suggest shopping around online. But also found this website who might be able to offer you some free pads -Pad Project - By Your Side.

    Hi @Steboro,

I am sorry that your Continence Service is being restricted / withdrawn. The Continence Service within the Community Service where I used to work withdrew the service several years ago accept for those who were wheelchair dependant or for those who were (mostly Care Home Residence and met their criterion, then they were restricted to three pads per day regardless of need. Some areas continued the Service but with a limited number of pads per day. I know that this is of no comfort to you but this decline in service has occurred over the past four / five years or so. Women tend to need them a while longer than men (childbirth being an early contributor to this necessity). However, regardless of who you are having to purchase reasonable quality continence pads is a degrading and a drain on your financial budget and seems to have become the 'norm'.

I hope that the link Holly has been able to provide for you is helpful and if you end up bulk purchasing you find a reasonable price. I have had to purchase continence products for quite a while now and the cost is very noticeable in my budget. I suspect there are very many people who bear the cost discreetly because it is embarrassing to admit that you need to.
