Is there any way they’ll take this from him?
hi, I’m looking for a bit of advice, my son receives adp as he is autistic, had adhd, dyspraxia, psoriatic arthritis and a whole host of other issues, I’ve just been contacted by social security Scotland asking if they can visit for a review to ensure he still needs the award. Nothing has changed, he’s an adult who can’t look after himself at all or use public transport, he has the mental capacity of someone much younger than his age & has no ability to understand common dangers. I queried as to why because his review isn’t due until 2028 but they claimed it’s because he was switched over from pip 18 months ago and they have to review it. I’m really worried as he doesn’t ‘look’ classically autistic, he does stim constantly but masks for the most part and will just be quiet and make no eye contact in front of people he doesn’t know. But the needs have not changed, he still needs help with every aspect of daily living. We have a family support worker who can verify this but Is there any way they’ll take this from him?

Hi @Do8888k and a warm welcome to the community from me!
Unfortunately I can't say for definite what the outcome will be but if his needs haven't changed and you still have lots of evidence that he does have a lot of care and support needs you'll hopefully be okay.0
