The Institute for Crime & Justice Policy Research (Birkbeck, University of London) and Healing Justice Ldn are

conducting research into the tribunal system funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

Who can take part:

We are looking to speak with disabled people who have appealed their Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

decision. We would like to speak to you if you have attended an appeal hearing, either in person or online, in

the last 5 years.

What will we ask you:

We would like to know about your experience of applying for PIP, appealing your decision, and how the appeal

hearing could be made more accessible for you and others in the future.

What does it involve:

Taking part in an interview online via MS Teams at a convenient time, for around 1 hour. We will arrange this for

a time that works for you and if you would like, you can have a friend, carer or family member with you for

support. After the interview you will be sent a link to access a £50 cash transfer/voucher as a’thank you’ for

taking part in the interview.

You can find out more about the research on the webpage for the project: https://www.icpr.org.uk/theme/courts-court-users-and-judicial-process/diverse-disabilities-accessibility-and-justice

If you have any questions, or would like to take part in the research, please get in touch with Dr Alex Murray
