Could I ask the experts from scope about the topic in this article please

It's to do with the troubles in northern ireland where people suffered injuries mentally or physically.

I was a bus driver hijacked and robbed sometimes at gunpoint..

Had one bus I was driving stopped and burnt at same time trying to let my passengers off and arguing with those hijackers to let them off and taking a punch in the face for my trouble.

I'm on pip for both elements of pip as is my wife. I do have a pension from the buses.

My question is how do I fair out to claim it would I or my wife lose our pip.

The things you went through sound awful @masser. I'm afraid I don't know too much about these payments as they're Norther Ireland specific. But if you're able to, it may be worth seeking out a local benefits adviser as they'll be more familiar with how these payments may interact with the benefits system. https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

As PIP is not a means tested benefit, I think it would be unlikely that you'd lose it if you won compensation, but I wouldn't be able to confirm that for certain. Compensation services like these are often disregarded as capital for the means tested benefits too, but again, I can't promise this is the case so speaking to a benefits adviser would be a good call.
