I just wanted to ask a question seen similar ones on here before, my daughter has been contacted by dwp about what could be a substantial overpayment. She has her sons savings account attatched to hers and has been using it to buy hes Christmas and Birthday presents etc she has been very ill with kidney failure over the years and didnt think she had to declare the account because it was in her sons name. She now thinks they will accuse her of benefit fraud and she will go to prison, however she is on dialysis 4 days a week and is exhausted on the other 3 and finding it very difficult to deal with.

    I'm sorry to hear about this, it sounds very stressful for you and your daughter.

    I am not 100% sure as this is quite complex and I wouldn't want to advise incorrectly. It is worth contacting a qualified benefit specialist about this and they should be able to give you the right information.
