Hi @Seanog, welcome to the community. It can depend a lot on your personal needs and whether you'll need it permanently. The Red Cross do wheelchair hire but this is often better for temporary situations:
The NHS have their wheelchair services and sometimes you can self-refer for help with this. There's some information about that here:
If you receive PIP higher mobility, you can get electric wheelchairs and scooters from Motability:
You could also self fund if that is an option for you. The benefit of that would be being able to choose a chair that fits all your needs without being restricted by what's offered by the NHS. But wheelchairs can be quite expensive so this might not always be possible.

Most of the big Shopping Centres have a Shopmobility Stall from which you can hire Wheelchairs and/or Scooters.
