Carers allowance & carer element on UC
Hi all
im getting confusing info so came here for help
Both me & my husband receive carers allowance for two of our adult sons , we obviously declared we care for them from day dot of applying for UC but someone said we should get carers element ? Is this true as obviously our carers allowance gets deducted as it should for UC
Thank you in advance for your kind replies.

Yes you should be both able to claim the Carers Element.

Do either yourself or husband receive payment for LCWRA element?
Do you receive any Transitional Protection on your claim?

I've found a past post from you in June 2025 where Carers Element is shown on your statement
"Carer" paid £396.62
That matches the 2025/2026 rate of £198.31 x 2.
So I think you already get it 🙂
