I have a sick note from my doctor. I have been self employed for a few years since Covid. My sick note says I am unfit for work I have health conditions that will never change. These conditions include atrial fibrillation, angina which makes me tired more often. I have osteoarthritis in my right ankle from a motorcycle accident in the 90s where I severely damaged my leg and ankle. Hurt and damaged my neck where I have trouble turning my head to the left. I am in constant pain which I am prescribed paracetamol from my doctor as my stomach cannot tolerate ibuprofen or any type of codeine or morphine drugs. I wear a type of splint on my lower right leg that stabilises my ankle and fits in my shoe. This was made by NHS specifically for fitment to my leg. Any way tried to get up 50 filled out which was turned down and UC said I am fit for work. The nurse from UC said she looked at my strays and said they are unclear but this is what it looks like. I don’t believe they took in what is there hand they are not my doctor. My doctor knows what he is doing. Basically what do I do now. I have done some work as I can like an hour on an hour rest. Should I not work at all what should I do about the decision?

    Hi welcome to the community.

You could apply for pip which is an in work disability benefit and enlist the help of Citizens advise to help you to request a mandatory reconsideration for Universal credit.

    Best of luck.
