Pip change of circumstances
good evening all
I hope everyone is well this evening?
I needed some advice . I had a change of circumstances and reported it to Pip.
My multiple new diagnoses have been added to my pip claim . Although itve not had my decision back yet, but I did request my report which arrived today.
Well, it’s not accurate at all. The lies.
I had a nurse apparently carrying out my assessment from capita.
She didn’t know what degenerative osteoarthritis was and never used it once in my report , she referred to it as mild arthritis. She didn’t know what any of my medication names were. (I’m baffled by this) as I’m some of the strongest addictive meds).
She said I can cook a meal and prepare food when I clearly told her I don’t cook anymore as I can’t grip and stand . I have constant pins and needles in my hand/ arm due to the lumbar spondylosis.
She was clearly told I’m unable to plan a journey as it’s too distressing for me. I was awarded 0 according to her report . I’m able to plan journey. I don’t even go out. My dad has to take me out as I can’t function and the pain is too much for me.
She said I can bath my self when I clearly told her I have to wait for my sister to come and shower my entire body as I’m unable to do it myself .
She asked me about my finances. I told her my son takes care of it all from my phone. I don’t do anything as I get confused . Due to the meds I’m on.
I’m so upset by this all. I’m genuinely at my lowest because of the constant pain I’m in.
Cervical spondylosis, Fybromyalgia, hallux ridigus , 4th stage osteoarthritis in my knees, hip bursitis, shoulder test 9cm big awaiting surgery , arthritis my hands, plantar fasciitis. Can’t walk more than 10 metres . She said I can walk 50. Yesterday knee consultants appt say- got to have nerve blockers in knee to alleviate pain, osteoplasty surgery thrn in 5 years total knee replacements in both . Already had 2 partial knees replacements
My question is can I call them Monday and explain all this over the phone being as case mans get / decision maker hasn’t made a decision yet?
Or do I have to go through MR then Tribinal or can you bypass. Or can I get my son to write to them explaining all the discrepancies as I’m unable to write due to the grip and numbness in my hand/ arm
Do they always go with the recommendations of the assessor. Recommending a 2 year review as she thinks condition is likely to improve.
I scored 12 for DL- should have got a lot more but appreciate enhanced is 12 points or more
10 for Mobility. ( I think I should have got 14
I currently get standard DL/Mobility
thank you in advance

Hi @gemd, sorry to hear you had such a gutting experience with your assessment. It sounds like you're dealing with a lot as it is, and things can feel so overwhelming when you're struggling and don't feel you've been listened to properly. Have you got supportive friends and family around at the moment that you can speak to about how you're feeling about it all?
They do often go with similar points recommended by the assessor, but not always. And at this point, it may be best to wait for the decision to come through and go from there. I think even if you did ring them to let them know, it's unlikely that they'd change the decision based on anything you said to them between now and receiving your decision.
If you do decide to appeal, it can be really helpful to speak to a benefits advisor to help with the forms and make the most of it. If you'd like to do that, there's a search tool here to find local help:
You'll continue to get the payment awarded to you in your most recent decision until another one is made, so you'd likely still get the enhanced rate for your daily living if the decision makers go with the assessor's recommendations.
Hope things start to feel easier to cope with soon.

Hi welcome to the community.
Personally I would wait for the decision letter and if it goes against you, seek professional assistance to apply for mandatory reconsideration.
As @Rosie_Scope
has advised you could contact Turn2us or you could try Citizens advice.
I wouldn't ring them because they are likely to treat the call as a mandatory reconsideration and you would be at an unfair advantage without having professional support/advice.
