PTSD/cPTSD - Medical trial

I've enrolled (not accepted yet) on a medical trial for a synthetic form of psychocybin (magic mushrooms) & wondered if anyone has had any experiences (good n bad) they might wish to share. I'm just so weary of this affecting my life I feel desperate, like I'd try anything. I do wonder (having read the music creators post-sorry, can't recall your tag) if the issue is that I'm struggling to accept it's life long.. even writing that has made me well up. Like, no! I don't want to accept that. I should say, my family (who are now estranged) were very much of the mind - get over it. They didn't even know (or want to know) the extent of the abuse/trauma but expected me not to refer to it or be affected by it. So, I guess maybe that ties into struggling to accept & acknowledge maybe.

I should say for context, I did have EMDR via NHS & some counselling. Also had 30 sessions via a local DV charity. I was approved for further trauma therapy and then the higher ups declined as he lives too near & so 'I may be retraumatised'.

So, I have really tried.

Does anyone affected by PTSD/cPTSD have any success stories to share maybe?

I was diagnosed with cPTSD before autism and can't distinguish between the two. I'm older than you and it has got easier with age.

Somebody recently suggested I should use mushrooms but I never have. I knew people around me did but I always felt too unstable to try. Now I'm curious to find out more. I'll be very interested to hear if you're accepted onto this trial.

Hi @WhatThe, I was declined from the trial. They taxi you there and back & I got a sainsburys meal deal lunch (was nice) & I think I get £70.. yeah, I'm gutted really :-(

When they were telling me about the trial it came up about animal testing, they tested this stuff in much higher doses on dogs. Dogs.. dunno, just made me cry… think they wrote me off as a bit unstable but I can't get it out of my mind. They were probs right hahaha xx

P.S. re other thread & the bit about family, I kinda could tell from your tone that you didn't mean it bad so I didn't take it as such. Thank you though, for the reply and for clarifying.

    Appreciated. x

I took shrooms once to get in contact with the Gods. Once I was in communication with them I was helped through the problems that I was having in life. This was years ago but it has still had a lasting positive effect to this day.
