I had the same issue as Kimi. The UC do NOT explain things in simple terms so you believe youre worse off. Actually if to add all that is coming in, its works out to be exactly the same as you were originally on.

Its a shock at first, but adding up what you're getting from both UC and a legacy benefit is the same even with deductions. Ive been advised from ESA DO NOT CLOSE DOWN THE BENEFIT but stay on UC and the legacy benefit. Yes it sucks but these are the rules on UC.

I'd love to have the DWP politician to be stripped of all his luxuries, no credit cards, his 2 homes. Chauffeur the lot. Give him/her some clothes and a sleeping bag along eith two weeks JSA no phone and put on the streets for an entire year. In this time they need to open up a bank account claim JSA and move forward to getting a property for a full year. Let's see how they fair. They'll soon realise its hard.
