Iv been anxious lately and been drinking im now down to only 6 beers down from over 10+ for last two days but i need to stop. Anyone got any strategies i tried nhs app but it is a bit poor. Everytime i talk to UC i just sink down further and i still need to talk to them.Iv split up the day so i have to go get a top up which has helped me reduce the amount. Its just a rebound with health. Im going to try take meds on time. I went for a walk today that helped but my place is a tip im struggling with motivation to do anything. Its just choosing to drink over self harm im doing it less but i just dont know how i know if im stopping to soon.Iv gone to a vape from cigarettes so i dont burn myself.

Anyone got some advice?

Hi @Amazonianup I'm so sorry you've been so anxious recently. It's really good that you've reached out and recognised that you're drinking more than usual though. Have you got something you can put your mind into that you enjoy? A walk sounds like a nice idea and increases your happy hormones. I'm going to pop you an email, please keep an eye out for it.

I go up high for month then i wean back down and sometimes i just cruise on a low amount then stop but i need to stop completely. The other day i went an increased alot because of the genuine fear of a relapse in unbearable anxiety and depression and it makes it logical for me to self medicate again. Its just not the solution i need at the moment.

My depression is overwhelming & social anxiety, i too self medicate daily with booze & prescription drugs. It's horrible when life becomes unbearable i know for sure. Moods, snappy at people, frustration, it can be very scary
