Hey guys

I have been getting tingling in back iv reduce alchol and got b12 tablets incase thats it? I still seem to be getting it. Its not in the bones feels like skin. Any ideas i go dr tomorrow?

    Hi @Amazonianup. Sorry you're struggling with this. There's no way to know what it is without speaking to the doctor. Have you got an appointment already booked tomorrow?

    no i will try tomorrow. It comes and goes which is strange. Its last few days it has happened.

    It seems to happen when i move. I am physically able to move but i take dog out and i get sensation with different movement. I sometimes wake up with pins and needles in arm before this happened. I am worried because i dont know if its serious or not? If its nerves it means its being compressed?

    Folic acid (vitamin B9) deficiency is more likely.

    The tingle moved so im guessing due to now having IBS again its some sort of anxiety. I still take my dog out im just getting stomach pains again. I didnt weant to waste there time. I just want to stop drinking. Im not self harming as much nothing like before. I think dealing with UC is just making me sick like im in a loop and cant get better. I just keep thinking about death.

    It's not a waste of their time @Amazonianup and definitely worth getting it checked out. Have you had your bloods done recently to see if you're low in anything?

    Im too tired to engage i found the insurance company more helpful more than the police UC and the drs. Im just going to keep praying and hoping to get better. I really think its a good chance of anxiety and depression and its just suckering me in. It will pass or it wont ill wait and see.

    im going to call gp tomorrow im getting pins and needles in different parts of body again

    Hi @Amazonianup Great advice here. It's really awesome that you are reaching out and that you feel safe doing so here. I don't know anything about alcoholism or withdrawal, so I looked it up. Did you know even when tapering alcohol, withdrawal can possibly be fatal? There's a really good article on WebMD describing withdrawal in detail. It's no picnic!! I'm not sure if you're interested in the article. But here it is:

    They do actually talk about what you're describing as pins and needles:

    "When you stop drinking, it can affect even your skin. Your doctor will want to know if you have any mild itching, numbness, a pins-and-needles feeling, or burning. If untreated, it may get worse. Itching is also linked to hallucinations from alcohol withdrawal."

    So I think you're right, that you should call your doc or maybe even go to the hospital. We care that you're safe. ❤️

    Yh i still get it. but i spoke pharmacist about alcohol and it might be that. I was just worried when it went to my butt on left side. Its not as intense now. I think it went and came back when i increased my use but im on a low amount now and im also slightly less anxious i was very anxious comming down
