Looking for Advice on Balancing Studies and Care Responsibilities
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the community and wanted to introduce myself while also seeking some advice.
I've been reading discussions about care and support at university, and it made me wonder how other students have managed balancing their studies with caring responsibilities or personal support needs.
Starting or continuing university can be challenging enough, but when care arrangements, health concerns, or family responsibilities are involved, it can sometimes feel overwhelming.
For those who have been through it:
- What support services did you find most helpful?
- How did you manage your workload alongside your care needs or caring responsibilities?
- Were there any university resources that you wish you had known about sooner?
- What advice would you give to someone preparing to start university in a similar situation?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any tips that helped you succeed.
Thank you, and I look forward to learning from the community.

Hi @Emilee ,
Not personally, but it's a topic I'm interested in learning more about. I've seen how challenging it can be for students who have caring responsibilities or who need additional support themselves while studying.
I thought it would be helpful to hear real experiences from people who have been through it, as their advice could benefit others facing similar situations. It's always useful to learn what support services and resources have made the biggest difference.
I'd be interested to hear about your experience as well if you're comfortable sharing. 😊
