ESA And UC getting lower with transitional protection - Bottom line amount?
Hello,
I get new style ESA
£291.80 (fortnight) - £598.86 (month)
And presumably my UC is made up of £854.70 (standard and lcwra) ignoring rent for now aged over 25
I currently get £414. it was higher but going down due to Transitional protection decreasing and rent going up etc) (no sanctions)
My question is- if the standard ammount of UC and lcwra is £854.70 and ESA £598.85 which they take off the UC, then is the lowest amount the UC could ever goto is £255.84? regardless of how much TP i have etc.
Basically ignoring rent and TP calculations etc, there must be a standard ammount it cant ever go lower than?
Thanks

I'm not sure it's possible to answer your question exactly.
To convert a weekly benefit into a monthly you multiply the weekly amount by 52 then divide by 12.
So the ESA deduction is currently £632.23.
Which would leave a UC award of £222.37.
Deductions can be made for other reasons, leaving a lower amount or even no UC in payment.
