Please could someone advise me

Hi, me and my partner have a joint claim on universal credit, he gets LCWRA and gets the payment for it, I am also on LCWRA but I dont get the payment for it I know its only 1 person to get the payment per claim. I am on enhanced pip for mobility and care so both components. My partner get enhanced daily living. My son is disabled he has low mobility dla and middle rate care dla. Could I claim the carers component on universal credit as I do as much as I can for him but we have family members who come in and help us alot as a family. I'm not sure where I stand being so ill myself but still do as much as my body allows me to. Thank you.

    Hi @sugarplum24 you could be entitled to this if you are his main carer. Is anyone else is claiming this currently?

    You need to be providing a minimum of 35 hours a week care for your son to claim carers for him. If your partner does that amount he could claim the carers for your son (or for you) and your lcwra would go into payment.

    No one else is claiming carers for him. But we do get alot of support from family members.

    Would you say you care for him 35 hours a week?

    Have you had a look into applying?
