That map isn't from the 70's. They didn't have computer graphics back then.

All from the 70s..they had a computer system after WW2. Maps were usually drawn, I didn't say they were computer graphics.

I found some history about the weather maps which I found quite interesting. They used to have magnetic weather symbols and then computer graphics came in the 90s
I think the purpose of the new graphic is to better show the temperature ranges, as when there were only a few temperatures scattered around the map a lot of places would be excluded.

I find the new climate pushing graphics irritating to be honest Rachel. I'm not saying there isn't something going on with the weather, but we or I have lived with these high temperatures for years, even in the 60s. It's nothing new and to over react with graphics like this over the top. I don't think I'm on my own with all this Ed Miliband green rubbish. It would be nice if we all could use electric for things, but it's far too pricey. Besides the map's, we're told we shouldn't be using tumble driers lol..And all this is very well if we all do it, but then you get the very people dictating to us, flying here there and everywhere😂 But on topic, computers and computers graphics have been used for years, as early as the 1970s. Not printing map's maybe, but they would still use a screen printing technique from a computerised method even for these.

When you show a CGI weather map and then say directly underneath it 'From the 1970s BBC..Look at the temps' it makes it sound like you was saying that the CGI weather map above is from the 70's.

I think increased awareness around extreme weather is a good thing.

You'll never be able to completely avoid Ai not matter how much you try as it's everywhere and it's only going to become more prevalent. Don't you think it would be better to just try and adapt to it/learn to deal with it instead?

AI can be handy in some ways, however using an AI generated image and claiming its an actual image took from the 1970's is harmful. Especially when your using it for evidence to prove your point.

What you want want removing isn't even Ai?Although it's not up to you to have post's removed, but…..These are 70s computers 😂 Nothing wrong with Ai if it's used properly anyway.

Here's a real 1970's weather map, the presenter would stick magnetic clouds, etc, onto the board. I prefer it when it was done this way.
