Pip review worry

Turned in my pip review form, evidence etc Feb this year, had a few generic texts we have you form, then we are progressing your form, you know the type of thing. But I must say my anxiety has gone skyward since at least last summer with the worry of knowing my review was coming up and now being in a state of limbo. I am dreading the thought of a f2f or a phone assessment, I'm honestly so unwell and have been so much worse these four years, all I want to do is sleep, my miriade of health conditions can be hellish, esp the chronic pain and nausea . Talk about being terrified of the post arriving. Life long and decades long conditions and all this does nothing but make them far worse.

I just feel so unwell I'd give my pip up to be better if it worked that way. There's no joy in life... none.

Hi @Doglover2, I'm sorry you're feeling so unwell. It's impossible to know how long the review will take unfortunately. Are you receiving enough support for your health?

@Rachel_Scope I'm still in contact with at least one of my consultants, i really need a gp appointment but I can't get one, my sister tried 79 times last month for me. Also before that they refused to allow me a script for Gluten free food even thought my Consultant had suggested I ask the surgery. They said its "Widely available ". Maybe,if you can drive to various supermarkets and can afford it, also I rarely leave the house, so its a struggle on top of everything else. Thanks for asking.

When you say your sister tried that many times to get a GP appointment, what do you mean? Is it that she can't get through or they won't give you an appointment?

@Rachel_Scope we've a first come first served phone system at 8.30am even when your on the dot there's generally loads of ppl in front of you, there's morning slots only, so if you don't snare one of those appointments then you don't get one. My friend who is with the sane surgery has had very similar ongoing problems, this phone triage has been set up since covid and not changed. There's two GPS sit per morning whereas we'd 6 pre covid.

That's really bad. With my GP you can call later on in the day and book a normal appointment, usually it's in the next couple of weeks or so, are you able to do that?

No @Rachel_Scope They don't do normal phone appointments,I've only ever had one as an emergency five or six months ago, and that it seems was pure luck. As I say my friends having horrendous problems likewise. We will try again on Monday and see how it goes.

I'm sure it's something you've already considered but is there another GP surgery you could move to? It doesn't seem like they're really supporting patients at your current GP.

Tbh they get a really bad review by many, I'm thinking of going with my sisters practice instead. Thing is I've been with my current practice 60 years my mum and late granny are-were too. But I'm most definitely considering it.

I'm not surprised. I'd go with a GP who will support you and where you can actually get an appointment. You've got to think about your health.
