I really need help………. I have been served a section 21 notice and have recently been threatened with court action by my Landlord. I have been on the council’s housing register for months now but because i have a rare condition, CMT4a and am wheelchair bound I find it near impossible to find a suitable dwelling. I have never been in a situation like this and the anxiety and stress is causing me to lose sleep and the constant worry has made me so depressed I just don’t know where to turn to and even what my rights are in this situation. I was advised by someone to reach out to you guys. I reside in a town called Burton on Trent and my local council is East Staffordshire. I have done everything that I have been told to do by the council and it has been almost 4 months now. Please Scope I’m desperately in need of your help and know that this is what you specialise in, helping people with disabilities who do not know what their rights are, to find a solution to the countless challenges they face. Well I am severely disabled and on the verge of becoming homeless. It is not clear to me what services are out there to help a person in my situation. I therefore humbly request a helping hand and would like to take the opportunity to add that you provide an invaluable service for which i am deeply grateful.

Hi A. I've just seen your post but we've spoken already via email this morning. I hope the information and signposting helps to get things moving along for you - it must be incredibly stressful and worrying. I've sent an additional email with some other information that might be helpful to you. Please let us know how you get on with Shelter etc.

Councils are not your friend. You need to know your rights because the council staff will lie, gatekeep, and do everything they can to avoid spending money. Shelter's website details everything.

It's highly likely you'll be temporarily allocated a room in a BnB once you're evicted, which will be given to you on the day you're evicted.

You also need to double check the Section 21 notice is even valid. If it's not, you don't need to do anything and the landlord will evantually have to start over.
