I'd rather just buy a retro console and games, much cheaper and can be just as fun as a modern console imo.

Retro consoles such as a SNES or a Megadrive tend not to work on modern TVs though.

There are some HD TV's where retro games will still look good enough on and no noticeable input lag imo, like my Sony Bravia.

Of course there are CRT's (which I use). Then there are upscalers, and cheap plug and play HDMI cables to make retro games look better on a modern TV. But I think finding a CRT that works perfectly these days could be difficult, and while a CRT that works perfectly can be expensive, you can still find one for cheaper than a modern console.

There are now of course (while maybe not retro) old HD consoles and games for them that can be found for cheap that will obviously be fine on a modern TV.

Haven’t looked into it loads but I don’t see the point when it seems the specs are worse than basic current consoles tbh

If I’m playing steam games I’d want high level pc performance

Both my Sega work fine on a moden telly, I rarely use them nowadays though, just a few times a year really.

The latest TV's don't have a Scart or RCA input anymore.

I know you can buy converters from RCA to HDMI so that could be one way around it.

My telly has a Scart socket, a tv I only bought last year, it's why I picked it. ( Cello 32" - £170. It says made in Britain too). 😇

I'm pleased for you, but that isn't the norm nowadays. 😀

Interestingly, I have seen the Cello factory on of those 'factory' TV programs. Think it was 'Made In Britain' on C5. Often repeated if you wanted to watch it.

Also only learnt this year that LG isn't Japanese! I've had an LG TV for 15 years and had no idea.
